Homeowner Claim Operation
(1 comment)
We are in the process of redesigning our homeowner claim operation, and would appreciate if any of you with HO claim management experience, would share information on the following subjects:
-
What is your threshold for property claims to be assigned to the field?
-
What is the workload standard for the field adjusters (number of claims per day)?
-
What is the workload standard (number of claims per day) for inside homeowner/property claim reps?
-
What is your supervisor to staff ratio?
-
How do you handle excess volume from weather or other natural disaster events? Do you use your normal claim teams, separate team or outsourced to independent adjusters?
Thank you for your input!

CE Credits a Driver for Education Programs?
I'm interested in hearing from adjusters licensed in states with CE requirements: is CE a driver when you spend time and money on your education?

Digital Recording
(0 comments)
Digital recording has now hit my carrier. I got mine this week. Our company clerical staff will be transcribing statements after they are uploaded. I will post a comment once I have my first phone statement transcribed which may be awhile since I am still a commercial liability field adjuster. I wonder when the gas prices will pull us off the road except for the most exceptional claims? but that's off topic....

Balance
(0 comments)
Your question on customer satisfaction is a challenge for all businesses. How much customer satisfaction can a business provide (cost) compared to the premuim you can charge. In the effrot to achieve higher customer satisfaction, you could over spend (expenses or indemnity) that causes you product to be overpriced and not cometitive.
As a business you have to decide the level you want to achieve in customer service based on how high you can allow your price to climb (balance). I believe that is different for different products, the customer segment and amount of competition you face.
In the end, not an easy task.
